When I was born, I was the baby of the family. When Nathan came along, I retained the title of the baby girl of the family. I was completely content with this. Alicia was born in the middle of the night and I was the first one to get to see her. That was pretty cool, however, when Alicia was born, I lost all "baby of the family" privileges. I don't remember why this was such a big deal to me at 4 years old, but it was. Maybe it had to do with the fact that there was one more person to share dad and mom with. Maybe it was that I was now officially a middle child with no special status. Maybe it was that she was just so cool that I knew I could never outdo her. Whatever it was, I was jealous of her.
Over time, that jealousy eventually turned into appreciation and then to love. I learned to love Alicia for who she was, all her quirks included. Alicia got married last week. Now, I know Greg THINKS that he already loves Alicia, but I want him to know, that as he gets to know her more and more, his love will only grow for her. It can't do anything else! As he discovers her funny little quirks and learns more about her, he will appreciate and love her more and more. Get ready Greg!
Here is the photo-guest book that I made for them. I hope that it is now filled with wonderful advice and memories of their wedding day. Hopefully they will cherish it for the rest of their lives.
Congratulations Alicia and Greg! I love you both.
