Waiting for a student to finish her exam. Then I'll run it upstairs and be down there. I'm already totally packed up, coat on, ready to go. She's done with the exam but is just being annoyingly contentious and checking over everything. EVERYTHING! Professors probably hated me when I was a student...

Whoops...
At the end of the work day today, I was ready to go home and Eric was ready to go home and I made a realization about myself. Here's the text I sent to Eric at about 5:03:

Bible Story Time
This morning I set Audrey down in John's crib so that I could go grab him some clothes from the clean laundry baskets in the living room.
When I came back, he had pulled the cushion off his chair and taken his Bible Story book off of his dresser and was "reading" her a Bible Story. He was probably sitting there reading to here for a good 3 or 4 minutes, which is about his attention span when I read him a story!
I tried to record a video and of course he started moving around right away, but you can get the general idea here:
In my mind, I always wonder whether or not he enjoys his Bible Story times or gets anything out of them this early. Watching him read to her convinced me that even if he doesn't understand everything yet, he is definitely enjoying the stories and at a minimum, learning the importance of the Bible and God's word.
Side note: this morning while I was nursing Audrey in bed, he was pulling everything off my night stand and I was naming the different items as he rearranged them. When he picked up my Bible and I said "that's my Bible," he looked at me, set it down, and ran into his room. A minute later he came back with his Bible Story book and was all excited to sit next to us while I read him a story.

Audrey's first moments
Jenna took pictures for us while Laura was doing Audrey's newborn check when she was about an hour old. I didn't know about posting them on facebook, but they're just so beautiful that I wanted to share them.

Potty Training
Don't let the title fool you; we have NOT begun potty training.
However, I believe it is in our near future, not by choice, but by requirement.
This is where John is pooping this morning:
His most recent locations of choice for laying a big one are behind the shoe shelf, in the 1-foot space between his dresser and the wall, behind the time out chair, behind the living room recliner, behind the Bible Story chair in his room, or in any other small space in which he feels alone.
If we come too close or even get caught looking his direction, he uncomfortably shouts "no-no-no-no" until we stop looking or move away. He is a very private pooper.
How we are going to convince this child to poop on the potty with help from his parents is something I have yet to figure out. Any helpful suggestions welcome.
In related news, newborn poo doesn't seem to stink! Maybe that's only because of my basis of comparison; JB is a stinker!
